Got this 3gs from my sister in-law.
It got very wet, both dots were red.
I cleaned it in the heated ultrasonic cleaner for 30 minutes and it looks good now.
Backlight was gone and was fixed by changing the coil.
I installed a new battery as well (correct one also for 3gs)
Now backlight works
touch screen works
i can turn it off/on
itunes/computer See's it, its in recovery mode.
but it keeps...
I need some help finding the name or product number of a component on the Iphone 4 (Model A1332) mainboard. The component is marked with a grey and dark grey square in the image.
All help is greatly appreciated.

new common problem faced in iphone 4g getting on with charger and data cable only wen we remove charger/datacable handset became off..check out the hot solution
remove the polar capacitor in red marked box...and assamble ur handset it will fix ur problem....
